SOFTWARE PROGRAM UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
When uninstalling any program there are always a few options available to do it.
Remember before attempting to remove any program make sure the program has been shut down completely.
Make sure there are no
icons for the programs sitting on your task bar.
Right click the icons
and choose close or exit for each one.
Hold down the ctrl + alt +
delete buttons and release them. This will bring up a box of everything that is
running on your machine (even though you can't see it).
Look in this box to see if
there is anything running that you wish to uninstall. If there is then highlight
it and then click [end task]. DO
NOT RESTART YOUR MACHINE!!
Now you are ready for the uninstall instructions:
1. Look in: start/programs
for the program and see if it has an uninstall option there. It would be an icon
that looks the same as the start up one but with a red circle with a line
through it over it.
Don't let that
frighten you.
Just click on the
uninstall icon and follow the steps on the screen.
2. You can also use the
control panel/add & remove programs to uninstall your program.
Find the
program you want to uninstall and then highlight it.
Now click on
[add/remove].
3. On either one of the above removal options you may be asked to choose the type of uninstall you want. The options will be:
repair
automatic
custom
Always choose custom.
On the custom uninstall you will now see a box full of files and buttons on the bottom saying: [select all] [next].
Keep hitting [select all], then [next] until you get to a button that says: [finish].
You may at this point be asked to reboot your computer.
Reboot your computer.
Upon start up of your computer you may see a screen like:
Windows is updating and configuring its files while it continues to load windows....
Please wait....
This is normal. Do not turn your computer off!!
Once your computer has loaded windows and your desktop is showing with all the icons on it, the program you uninstalled should be gone.
If it is not, email me and I will help you personally.
One more tip:
If you make a habit of installing/uninstalling things on a regular basis I would suggest investing in a registry cleaner. You can find many free ones on download sites, including my own: Terri's Downloads.
